Summary:

Responsible for using scissors or clippers to trim, cut, or shape hair in a beauty salon. Provides consultation to client, selects equipment, cuts hair, styles, and then blow-dries and finishes hair.

 

Primary responsibilities:

• Perform consultation to get the client's opinion on desired hairstyle

• Shampoo client’s hair using suitable products based on hair type

• Massage scalp.Add highlights, color, or curling chemicals to hair

• Apply deep conditioning treatments

• Cut, trim, and shape hair into desired style

• Utilize clippers, combs, rushes, scissors, and blow-out guns to style and cut hair

• Shape hair on temple and neck

• Apply product such as mousse or serum to hair

• Use blowdryer to dry hair

• Create updos or elegant hairstyles for formal events such as prom, weddings, or other occasions

• Sweep up hair around station

• Check out clients

 

Promote the brand by:

• Performing all services to salon standards

• Upholding salon standards of hygiene, sterilization and cleanliness throughout

• Demonstrating respect, sensitivity, and concern for clients' needs with a professional and pleasant attitude

• Dressing in a professional manner, consistent with dress code

• Upholding salon’s policies and procedures in all interactions with clients and co-workers

 

Drive the business by:

• Maintaining a thorough understanding of all services and retail products

• Upselling services and retail products as appropriate

• Inviting clients to book future appointments

 

Execute flawless operations by:

• Maintaining a clean service environment to salon standards

• Create an excellent experience for guests and members through a therapeutic touch and friendly attitude

• Safeguard client information and confidentiality

 

Contribute to the team by:

• Interacting cooperatively and with consideration towards co-workers

• Assisting and supporting co-workers when needed to provide outstanding service to our clients

• Showing dependability and willingness to work with schedule flexibility

• Performing daily duties as delegated by the management team

• Maintaining work schedules as directed by the management team

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Pennsylvania license to perform cosmetology services

• Must carry personal liability insurance

• Ideal candidate will have an established book of business

• Must be willing and able to perform all services to salon standards

• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule based on client demand, including days, nights, and weekends

• Must be dependable and able to adjust to schedule changes, including appointment cancellations and additions

• Must display a positive and cooperative attitude toward clients and co-workers

• Must demonstrate excitement and pride to be a part of the Vintage Rose team

• Customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients and other team members

 

Benefits / Compensation:

• 1099 Subcontractor

• 50% commission on all services sold

• 10% commission on all retail product sold
